The Marché de Noël de Lille transforms Place Rihour into a festive wonderland for six weeks each winter, welcoming over 1 million visitors annually from France and neighboring countries. Organized by the Fédération Lilloise du Commerce for more than 30 years, this established Christmas market features 90 wooden chalets showcasing artisan crafts, regional products, and festive delicacies from the Hauts-de-France region and beyond. The market's warm, convivial atmosphere invites families and friends to wander through glittering alleys while discovering unique handmade gifts, from traditional wooden crafts and leather goods to metal creations and home decorations. Food lovers can indulge in regional specialties including foie gras, truffles, and artisan chocolates, while warming up with mulled wine or hot chocolate. The market offers weekly entertainment including illuminated musical performances every Thursday evening at 6pm and popular blind test competitions every Friday at 5pm with RTL2 and Mukiz. A dedicated solidarity chalet (number 43) highlights local metropolitan charities throughout the season. Beyond the market itself, visitors can enjoy a majestic 50-meter Ferris wheel on Grand-Place offering panoramic views of illuminated Lille, plus traditional carousels at Place du Théâtre. Conveniently located just steps from Rihour metro station and a five-minute walk from Lille Flandres and Lille Europe train stations, the market is easily accessible for both local and international visitors.
