Royal Garden of Light

The Royal Garden of Light at Wilanów Palace transforms the historic 17th-century royal residence—often called the Polish Versailles—into Warsaw's most spectacular winter attraction. This award-winning outdoor exhibition features over 400,000 eco-friendly LED lights arranged across 14,000 square meters of baroque gardens, creating a magical journey through Polish royal history and mythology. Visitors enter through a stunning 75-meter illuminated Musical Tunnel filled with classical compositions, leading to the main courtyard where light installations depict the life of King Jan III Sobieski, his love for Queen Maria Kazimiera, and his military victories. The exhibition includes interactive elements like the Observatory with astronomical devices honoring the king's friendship with astronomer Jan Hevelius, the mythological Labyrinth in the Southern Garden, and the playful "Tag with the Otter" game featuring the king's beloved pet. The Musical Garden of Dreams on the lower terrace presents synchronized light shows set to Tchaikovsky, Vivaldi, and Bach, while the Raffaello Rose Garden blooms with oversized luminous flowers. On Friday and weekend evenings, spectacular 3D mapping shows projected onto the palace façade bring the building to life with historical scenes and royal processions.
