Leon Štukelj Square transforms into Maribor's premier outdoor concert venue each December as part of the city-wide Čarobni Maribor (Magical Maribor) Christmas festival. While the Christmas village and panoramic Ferris wheel anchor nearby Main Square, Leon Štukelj Square serves a distinct and lively role: it is the beating heart of the city's free live music programme throughout the entire holiday season. From late November through New Year's Eve, the square hosts 18 free evening concerts featuring a diverse lineup of Slovenian and regional artists.
