Granada's Christmas markets bring festive charm to the heart of Andalusia, spreading across two iconic central locations just a short walk apart. The dual-market setup — one at Fuente de las Batallas near Puerta Real and one at Plaza Bib-Rambla beside the Cathedral — lets visitors explore the full Christmas offering in a single leisurely stroll through the historic city center. At Plaza Bib-Rambla, Granada's traditional nativity market has drawn families for decades. Stalls here specialize in handcrafted nativity figures (belenes) made by artisans from across Andalusia, alongside seasonal sweets like mantecados and pestiños, moss and miniature accessories for home nativity scenes, and festive decorations. The square's surrounding cafés and churrerías make it easy to warm up with hot chocolate between browsing sessions. The Fuente de las Batallas market, set around the ornamental fountain near Puerta Real, takes a broader artisan focus. Its approximately 24 stalls showcase locally made ceramics, traditional leather goods, silver jewelry, handcrafted wooden toys, and sweets from Granada's convent bakeries — products that reflect the city's deep craft heritage and make genuinely distinctive gifts. Both markets run daily from early December through January 6th (Three Kings Day), operating split hours of 11:00–14:00 and 17:00–21:00 or 21:30, closing fully on December 25th and January 1st, and operating mornings only on December 24th and 31st. Admission is free to both. The markets pair naturally with visits to the nearby Cathedral, a stroll through the Albaicín, or an evening walk under Granada's festive street lighting. Arrive on a weekday morning for the most relaxed experience.
