Nestled in the heart of one of Alsace's most beloved medieval villages, the Eguisheim Christmas Market at Place du Marché aux Saules is an intimate, artisan-focused celebration that captures the true spirit of an Alsatian Christmas. Holder of the prestigious 'Villes et Villages de Noël' label, this market stands out for its commitment to authenticity and local craftsmanship. About 30 carefully selected artisans and craftspeople fill the square's charming wooden chalets with handmade wax figurines, wooden objects, hand-blown glass Christmas balls, and a rich array of Alsatian food specialties. A decorative arch of festive greenery marks the entrance, immediately drawing visitors into a warm, convivial atmosphere. The surrounding concentric medieval alleyways, illuminated half-timbered houses, and cobblestone streets create a fairy-tale backdrop that feels genuinely timeless. The market runs daily from late November through late December (closed December 24–26), with weekday hours from noon and extended weekend hours from 10am to 7pm.
