Set in the heart of Toledo's historic old town, the Corazón de la Navidad (Heart of Christmas) transforms Plaza del Ayuntamiento into the city's most beloved Christmas gathering place each holiday season. With the magnificent Toledo Cathedral as a backdrop, this festive market creates an atmosphere unlike any other in Spain, blending centuries of tradition with lively family entertainment. The market features around 15 stalls offering traditional sweets, seasonal foods, chocolatería, and gift items perfect for holiday shopping. At its center stands a classic two-story traditional carousel (tiovivo), a beloved fixture that draws families with young children throughout the day. The square is adorned with a towering Christmas tree and festive installations including La Casa de la Navidad, creating a warm and magical setting after dark. One of the market's standout offerings is its rich daily program of free craft workshops for both children and adults. Activities include glass figure making, woodcarving, candle making, and card decoration — hands-on experiences that go well beyond typical market browsing. Evening entertainment brings storytelling sessions, magic and humor shows, fire and juggling performances, puppet shows, and visits from Christmas characters, ensuring something new to discover on every visit. The market runs daily from 11:00 to 23:00, from late November through January 6 (Three Kings Day), making it a centerpiece of Toledo's extended holiday season. The traditional carousel charges a small fee (€3 per ride, or €10 for a five-ride pass), while most workshops and performances are free.
