Christmas Markets in Celle

Celle's origins date to the thirteenth century as a settlement along the Aller River in the Duchy of Brunswick-Lüneburg. It rose to prominence as a ducal residence in the fourteenth century, and the ruling Welf dynasty left a lasting architectural and cultural imprint on the town.
