The Ludwigsburger Barock-Weihnachtsmarkt transforms the heart of Ludwigsburg into a breathtaking festive spectacle each winter, set against the backdrop of one of Germany's finest Baroque squares. Framed by two magnificent Baroque churches facing each other across Marktplatz, the market's glowing angels, twinkling lights, and lovingly decorated stalls create an atmosphere unlike any other Christmas market in the region. With around 150 individually decorated vendor stalls spread across both Marktplatz and the expanded Arsenalplatz, visitors can browse an exceptional range of handcrafted goods — from hand-blown glass ornaments and carved wooden toys to amber jewelry, natural soaps, and traditional Erzgebirge wooden figures. Food lovers will delight in roasted chestnuts, freshly baked Dresden Christstollen, cheese fondue, roast duck, South Tyrolean specialties, and warming mugs of Glühwein or bio Glüh-Gin. The Arsenalplatz extension adds further stalls alongside the beloved "Blübähnle" miniature train and a children's carousel, making it a wonderful destination for families. Each afternoon at 4 pm, a dedicated children's stage program brings puppet theater, magic shows, and clowning to Marktplatz, while weekends feature live music ranging from brass bands and carol singers to children's choirs.
