The Mainzer WinterZeit market on Schillerplatz is one of four charming winter markets that complement Mainz's celebrated Historic Christmas Market, bringing festive warmth to one of the city's most picturesque squares. Set around the iconic Mainzer Fastnachtsbrunnen (Carnival Fountain), this market creates a cozy gathering spot where locals and visitors alike come to enjoy the season at a relaxed pace. The square's historic architecture provides a beautiful backdrop for the illuminated stalls, making it a particularly atmospheric stop on any Mainz Christmas market tour. Open daily from 11:00 am, the Schillerplatz market runs from late November through December 23, then reopens December 27–30 for a post-Christmas extension — one of the few WinterZeit locations to offer this bonus period.
