The Craiova Christmas Market at Buzești Brothers Square is one of the most distinctive zones of Craiova's award-winning holiday celebration, dedicated entirely to Romanian traditional culture under the theme "Traditional Christmas" (Crăciun Tradițional). This square serves as the cultural heart of the broader Craiova Christmas Market, which has been recognized by European Best Destinations as one of Europe's most beautiful Christmas markets — the only Romanian city to consistently appear in that prestigious competition. Buzești Brothers Square comes alive every Friday and Saturday evening from 18:00 to 21:00 with live performances on its dedicated stage, featuring folk music ensembles, choral concerts, children's theater from the Colibri Theater, performances by the Romanian Opera Craiova, and concerts by nationally recognized artists such as Antonia, Aurelian Temișan, and Ștefan Hrușcă. The square's programming celebrates authentic Romanian heritage through caroling groups, folk dance ensembles from the Maria Tănase Folklore Section, and student choirs from local schools and colleges.
