The Doljana Zone is one of six themed areas that together form the celebrated Craiova Christmas Market, recognized by European Best Destinations as one of Europe's most beautiful Christmas markets. Themed "Carousel Christmas" for the 2025 edition, this zone enchants visitors with uniquely decorated chalets designed to delight both children and adults in a festive, carousel-inspired setting. As part of the broader Craiova Christmas Market experience — which spans Mihai Viteazul Square, Frații Buzești Square, William Shakespeare Square, Theodor Aman Street, and English Park — the Doljana Zone adds its own distinct character to the city-wide celebration. The overall market features over two million lights, gingerbread-house-style stalls with snow-dusted rooftops, an ice skating rink hosting live Nutcracker ballet performances by the Romanian Opera of Craiova, a panoramic Ferris wheel, virtual reality experiences, and nightly Flying Sleigh shows with special effects and artificial snow. Traditional Romanian crafts, seasonal foods and drinks, food trucks, and live concerts by national artists round out the experience across all zones. The market runs from mid-November through early January, with weekday hours of 1:00 PM–10:00 PM and extended weekend hours of 10:00 AM–11:00 PM.
