Experience Arezzo Città del Natale

Arezzo Città del Natale transforms the entire historic centre of Arezzo into an immersive Christmas celebration spanning multiple iconic venues, now in its tenth edition under the theme 'Il Natale delle Arti' (Christmas of the Arts). Running from mid-November through Epiphany (January 6), the event takes place Thursday through Sunday, with daily programming from around December 18 onward, making it one of Tuscany's most expansive and enduring holiday festivals. The crown jewel of the Christmas market is the Tyrolean Village in Piazza Grande, widely recognized as Italy's largest Tyrolean-style Christmas market, featuring 34 wooden chalets where exhibitors from the Tyrol, Austria, and Germany offer traditional crafts and seasonal specialties alongside local Tuscan artisans. The adjacent Palazzo della Fraternita dei Laici hosts Brick House Art, a spectacular two-floor LEGO brick exhibition with works by nationally recognized artists. Meanwhile, the sweeping Il Prato garden becomes the 'Bosco delle Emozioni' (Forest of Emotions), illuminated by over 640,000 LED lights across 8,000 square meters, complete with an ice skating rink and a panoramic Ferris wheel. The historic Fortezza Medicea crowns the hilltop with Santa's House and the Elves' Village. Each evening from 5 p.m. to midnight, award-winning videomapping projections by artist Elodie Poidatz and PlayMarche animate the facades of Piazza Grande and the Palazzo Comunale, narrating Arezzo's history from its Etruscan origins through the Renaissance. Additional markets, chocolate workshops, and artisan fairs spread throughout the city's squares, ensuring every corner of Arezzo glows with festive spirit. Arrive on a Thursday or Friday to enjoy the Tyrolean Village with smaller crowds before the weekend rush.
