Arezzo Città del Natale - Il Prato

Nestled within Il Prato, Arezzo's grand historic garden, the Bosco delle Emozioni (Forest of Emotions) transforms this beloved green space into one of Italy's most spectacular Christmas light installations. Part of the broader Arezzo Città del Natale festival — now in its tenth edition — the Il Prato venue dazzles visitors with over 640,000 LED lights illuminating 8,000 square metres of parkland, creating an immersive, low-energy light experience unlike anything else in Tuscany. The park comes alive with themed zones and interactive attractions designed for all ages. A highlight new to recent editions is the illuminated castle selfie point, where visitors can feel like royalty amid the festive glow, alongside the Piazzetta del Vischio (Mistletoe Square), an interactive light space inviting guests to engage with the installation. The beloved ice skating rink and panoramic Ferris wheel return each season, offering classic winter fun with sweeping views over the city. Il Mercato delle Arti, the artisan market within the park, showcases handcrafted goods and artistic creations — perfect for finding a unique, locally made gift. The adjacent Fortezza Medicea, perched at the park's highest point, hosts Santa's House and the Elves' Village, making the entire hilltop area a magical destination for families. The festival runs Thursday through Sunday from mid-November, with daily opening from around December 18 through early January, and the light displays illuminate the park each evening from 5:00 PM to midnight.
