Marché de Noël d'Arras - Place Lanvin

The Arras Christmas Market — known locally as the Ville de Noël d'Arras — transforms the city's stunning Flemish Baroque squares into one of the largest and most atmospheric holiday markets in the Hauts-de-France region. Place Lanvin serves as one of the festive gathering points within this sprawling celebration that fans out across the Grand'Place, Place des Héros, and surrounding streets. With more than 150 chalet stalls filling the historic center, visitors are immersed in a setting that feels like stepping inside a giant snow globe, ringed by ornate gabled architecture and thousands of twinkling lights. A soaring 35-meter Ferris wheel anchors the Grand'Place, offering panoramic views over the illuminated rooftops, while a 25-meter Christmas tree dominates Place des Héros. Families will find plenty to enjoy: an ice skating rink, traditional carousels, a sledge run, Santa's Village, and a dedicated Elves' Village on Place du Théâtre keep children entertained throughout the season. Shoppers can browse stalls run by artisans — nearly half from the Hauts-de-France region — offering hand-blown glass ornaments, wooden toys, natural cosmetics, jewelry, and upcycled crafts. Food lovers are equally well served, with regional specialties like Maroilles cheese, coeurs d'Arras, Flemish waffles, foie gras, and honey alongside warming mugs of mulled wine and hot chocolate. Local brass bands perform every Friday, and a spectacular light show floods the Belfry with color each evening.
