Weihnachtswelten Lübeck - Kunsthandwerkermarkt St. Petri

Beneath the medieval vaults of St. Petri zu Lübeck, the KHWM Kunsthandwerkermarkt is one of the most distinctive Christmas experiences in Lübeck's UNESCO World Heritage Altstadt. Now in its 27th year, this indoor craft market brings together more than 60 professional artisans, turning the Gothic church into a warm, sheltered showcase for handmade work - ideal whatever the winter weather. The 2026 market runs daily from 24 November to 20 December, 11 am to 7 pm. It opens the evening before, on Monday 23 November from 6 pm, with free entry. Admission during the market is EUR 4, and children up to 12 go free. Expect carefully made Christmas gifts and new favourite pieces: ceramics, metalwork, hand puppets, goldsmith jewellery and even perfumes. Homemade treats are served in the cosy St. Petri café, and there is regular live music. Many stalls change on 7 December, so a second visit in the later part of the season is well worth it. The market is part of Lübeck's wider Weihnachtswelten, and St. Petri sits within easy walking distance of the traditional market around the Rathaus, the historic market at St. Marien and the Sternenwald on the Schrangen - making it easy to combine with a full day exploring the "Christmas City of the North".
