Weihnachtswelten Lübeck - Maritimer Weihnachtsmarkt

The Maritime Christmas Market (Maritimer Weihnachtsmarkt) at Koberg is one of the most distinctive stops within Lübeck's celebrated Weihnachtswelten — eleven themed Christmas worlds spread across the UNESCO World Heritage old town. Set on the historic Koberg square, this market pays tribute to Lübeck's proud seafaring heritage and the old sailor's quarter surrounding St. Jakobi church, giving it a character unlike any other Christmas market in northern Germany. Visitors are transported into the atmosphere of a traditional Hanseatic port town, with stalls offering fresh fish specialties, Nordic delicacies, and artisan crafts inspired by maritime culture. The market runs from November 24 through December 30, closed on December 24 and 25, making it one of the longer-running markets in the city. The Koberg location is also directly served by the free Christmas shuttle bus, which stops at the Koberg/Königstraße halt on event Saturdays, running every 10 minutes from the P+R park-and-ride lots. The market sits within easy walking distance of Lübeck's other Weihnachtswelten, allowing visitors to combine it with the Traditional Christmas Market around the Rathaus, the Historic Christmas Market at St. Marien, or the Sternenwald on the Schrangen in a single festive stroll. A new accessible restroom facility was installed at Koberg, improving the experience for visitors with mobility needs. The surrounding medieval streetscape, illuminated by over half a million lights strung across the old town, creates a magical backdrop that makes the Maritime Christmas Market a highlight of any visit to Lübeck's Christmas season.
