The Traditioneller Weihnachtsmarkt (Traditional Christmas Market) is the historic heart of Lübeck's celebrated Weihnachtswelten — a festive wonderland that has drawn visitors to this UNESCO World Heritage city since 1648, when the first market was documented at the foot of the Lübecker Rathaus. Set around the magnificent Town Hall on the Markt square and extending along the Breite Straße pedestrian zone, this classic market immerses visitors in twinkling lights, fragrant pine, and centuries of Hanseatic tradition.
